Architecture

About

The English-taught Architecture program at Marmara University offers a four-year undergraduate education combining creative design, technical knowledge, and cultural awareness. From the very first semesters, students explore the foundations of architecture — spatial thinking, drawing, design theory, history of architecture, technical drawing, and materials knowledge. As you advance, you learn how to design living spaces, buildings, and environments — working on studio projects, using modern architecture software, thinking about sustainability, structure, space planning and human needs.

Beyond the technical and creative side, the program exposes students to Istanbul’s rich historical and cultural context — helping them understand architecture in a global city with heritage, diversity and dynamic urban life. Through studio work, group projects and theoretical courses in English, students build the ability to think as architects: merging creativity, technical skills and cultural sensitivity to shape spaces that respond to people, environment and society.
