The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (English) UOLP is an international dual-degree program run by Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) and University at Buffalo (SUNY), offering a global education for ambitious engineering students. In this program, students spend part of their education in Istanbul and part in Buffalo, USA. They learn how to design and build structures such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, roads, water systems, and large infrastructures. The curriculum combines core engineering science (mathematics, mechanics, materials) with modern civil engineering practices — structural design, geotechnics, hydraulics, infrastructure planning — giving students strong knowledge to build safe and long-lasting structures.
Because the program is international and taught in English, students also gain global perspective and cross-cultural experience. They use modern labs and engineering tools, do projects, and follow both Turkish and American engineering standards. Studying in two different countries helps students understand diverse construction practices and regulations. With dual diplomas from both İTÜ and University at Buffalo, this program opens doors not only in Turkey but around the world.
Semester 1 – Foundations of Engineering & Mathematics
Semester 2 – Materials, Mechanics & Basic Infrastructure
Semester 3 – Structural Mechanics & Soil-Water Systems
Semester 4 – Structural Design & Infrastructure Systems
Semester 5 – Advanced Structural Design & Project Techniques
Semester 6 – Construction Management & Project Planning
Semester 7 – Design Projects & Practical Training (USA)
Semester 8 – Graduation Project & Professional Preparation
Graduates of this program can work as structural engineer, project manager, infrastructure engineer, transportation engineer, water & wastewater engineer, construction manager, or urban infrastructure planner. They may work in construction companies, design offices, government agencies, urban planning departments, environmental and infrastructure firms, or international engineering companies. Because graduates receive two diplomas — from İTÜ and University at Buffalo — they have strong credentials for working both in Turkey and abroad. The dual-degree structure and English education make them attractive for international projects, global companies, or further study abroad.
Choosing the Civil Engineering UOLP program with ITU and the University at Buffalo gives you the chance to study in two countries and learn from two strong engineering schools. You gain technical knowledge, work in modern laboratories and join design projects that reflect real construction challenges. This mix of theory and practice helps you build confidence as an engineer. You also experience different teaching styles and engineering standards. All of these make your education more flexible and practical.
The dual-degree system offers important advantages for your career. You learn global engineering codes, improve your English skills and work with students from different cultures. With two diplomas, you can find opportunities in both local and international companies. The international experience also helps you adapt easily to modern engineering environments. This program is a strong choice if you dream of working on meaningful projects around the world.
