The Dutch and Russian Language Studies program at University College London (UCL) is a four-year, full-time course that enables students to become proficient in both Dutch and Russian, while exploring the cultural, historical, and literary traditions of these two distinct languages. This program provides a comprehensive understanding of the societies and histories of the Netherlands and Russia, preparing students for a wide range of international careers.
UCLโs program combines intensive language training with cultural exploration, equipping graduates with the skills to pursue careers in translation, international relations, publishing, and cultural diplomacy.
The program begins with intensive language courses in both Dutch and Russian, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and conversation. In addition to language training, students explore the history, literature, and culture of the Netherlands and Russia. In the final two years, students specialize in areas such as linguistics, literary analysis, and cultural studies, with opportunities to study abroad in Dutch- or Russian-speaking regions.
