The Electrical Engineering B.Sc. programme at Istanbul Technical University is a four-year undergraduate degree taught in English. In this programme, you learn how electricity, electronics and modern power systems work. Early years give you basics in mathematics, physics and fundamentals of circuits. Later, you study power systems, electrical machines, energy transmission, control systems and design of electrical systems. The programme teaches both theory and practical skills, so that graduates understand how to analyse, design and manage real electrical engineering problems in modern industry.
Studying at İTÜ’s Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering means you get access to strong lab facilities, expert instructors and a broad engineering curriculum. The department has a long history of education and contributions to electrical-electronic engineering. With this education, you build a solid foundation for careers in power systems, electronics, energy, automation, and more — ready to work in Türkiye or abroad.
Semester 1 – Foundations of Mathematics & Physics
Semester 2 – Core Fundamentals
Semester 3 – Core Electrical Systems I
Semester 4 – Core Electrical Systems II
Semester 5 – Power Systems & Energy Engineering
Semester 6 – Advanced Electrical Engineering & Applications
Semester 7 – Projects & Professional Preparation
Semester 8 – Capstone & Graduation Preparation
Graduates can work as power systems engineers, electrical design engineers, energy and utility engineers, electronics engineers, automation and control systems engineers, or R&D engineers in energy, electronics, manufacturing, infrastructure or technology sectors. With strong English skills and modern electrical-engineering training, they can also join global companies, energy firms or international projects. They may also pursue graduate studies (MSc / PhD), work in research institutes, energy policy & management, renewable energy, or academic careers.
This programme is a great choice if you want to build a strong future in electrical engineering and work in a wide range of technology fields. It gives you a clear understanding of how electrical systems, machines, energy networks and control technologies work. You learn through both theory and hands-on practice, which helps you feel confident when solving real engineering problems. Because the programme is taught fully in English, you also gain the language skills needed to work internationally.
Another important reason to choose this programme is the flexibility it gives you for your career path. Electrical engineering is used in energy systems, renewable power, automation, manufacturing, electronics, telecommunications and many other sectors. This programme allows you to explore different areas and decide what you want to focus on. By the time you graduate, you have both technical skills and professional confidence, opening doors to jobs in Türkiye or abroad, or to further study at top universities.
