The Bachelor of Science in Geology (International) is a three-year, full-time on-campus program that provides students with a deep understanding of the Earth’s structure, processes, and history. The program covers topics such as sedimentology, mineralogy, tectonics, and geophysics, along with practical fieldwork experiences. Students will learn how to analyze geological data and apply geological principles to real-world challenges.
Graduates will be prepared for careers in environmental consultancy, natural resource exploration, and geotechnical engineering. The University of Leeds offers international fieldwork opportunities, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in diverse geological environments across the globe.
Year 1 – Foundations of Geology and Earth Sciences
Year 2 – Intermediate Geology and Fieldwork
Year 3 – Advanced Geology and International Perspectives
Graduates of the Geology (International) Bachelor of Science program are well-prepared for careers in geological research, mineral exploration, environmental consulting, and energy resources. They can pursue roles as geologists, hydrogeologists, mining engineers, environmental consultants, and petroleum geologists in the energy, mining, environmental, and construction industries, as well as in government agencies and research institutions. The program also provides a strong foundation for graduate studies in geology or earth sciences.
This three-year, full-time Bachelor of Science program offers an in-depth education in geology, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on fieldwork and practical laboratory experience. Students will explore global geological processes, mineral resources, and geohazards, with an international perspective on earth systems and tectonics. The program emphasizes field-based learning, offering valuable exposure to real-world geological problems. This program is ideal for those seeking careers in geological research, natural resource management, or environmental science, with opportunities for international experience and interdisciplinary study.
