Geology with a Year Abroad

About

The Master in Science (MSci) in Geology with a Year Abroad at Imperial College London is a four-year, full-time program that provides students with a deep understanding of Earth's geological processes and structure, with the added benefit of an international experience. In the first three years, students will study core geology topics, such as mineralogy, sedimentology, geophysics, and tectonics, while the fourth year is dedicated to studying abroad at one of Imperial’s prestigious partner institutions. This year abroad allows students to gain exposure to different geological environments, research methodologies, and scientific perspectives.

Graduates will be well-prepared for careers in environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, resource exploration, and academic research. The year abroad enhances the program by broadening students' academic and cultural horizons, making them more competitive in the global job market. The combination of theoretical geology and hands-on experience ensures that students can approach geological problems from both a scientific and practical standpoint.
