The Master’s Programme in Infection Biology is a two-year, full-time on-campus program that focuses on the biological mechanisms of infectious diseases and the interactions between pathogens and host organisms. The program provides in-depth knowledge of microbiology, immunology, and molecular biology, enabling students to understand how infections develop, spread, and can be controlled. Students explore topics such as bacterial and viral pathogenesis, host immune responses, antimicrobial resistance, and modern laboratory techniques used in infection research.
Graduates gain strong laboratory skills, scientific expertise, and research competence, preparing them for careers in biomedical research, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and public health sectors. Uppsala University offers access to advanced research facilities and a strong scientific community, supporting students in developing a deep and practical understanding of infection biology.
