Pharmacy with a Preparatory (Foundation) Year

About

The Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) with a Preparatory (Foundation) Year at the University of Manchester is a five-year, full-time program designed for students who wish to pursue a career in pharmacy but may need additional support before starting the full MPharm degree. The first year is a preparatory foundation year that equips students with the core knowledge in chemistry, biology, and mathematics needed to succeed in the pharmacy program. This is followed by the traditional MPharm program, which focuses on pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacy practice, and patient care.

Throughout the program, students will gain the skills necessary to become a registered pharmacist, with an emphasis on practical experience in clinical settings, community pharmacy, and hospital pharmacy. Graduates will be well-prepared to work in a variety of healthcare settings, where they can contribute to medication management, patient counseling, and the development of new pharmaceutical products.
