The Spanish and Portuguese program at the University of Bristol is a four-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) that combines the study of Spanish and Portuguese languages with an in-depth exploration of the literature, culture, and history of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking regions. Students will develop proficiency in both languages, along with an understanding of the literary and cultural traditions of Spain, Latin America, and Portugal.
This program includes immersive language courses and the opportunity for study abroad in Spain, Portugal, or Latin America, allowing students to practice their language skills and gain firsthand experience of the cultures they are studying. Graduates will be well-equipped for careers in translation, international relations, education, publishing, or cultural diplomacy, where fluency in two major European languages and cultural expertise is highly valued.
