The Women’s Health and Gender Related Nurse Practitioner Master of Science program at Pennsylvania University is a full-time, 15-month academic experience designed to prepare advanced practice nurses who are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women and gender-diverse populations. The program provides comprehensive clinical and theoretical training in areas such as reproductive health, primary care, gynecology, and gender-affirming care. With a curriculum that integrates evidence-based practice, health equity, cultural competency, and patient-centered care, students develop the clinical judgment and leadership skills necessary for holistic and inclusive healthcare delivery.
Throughout the program, students engage in immersive clinical rotations, interprofessional collaborations, and rigorous coursework led by faculty with extensive experience in women’s and gender health. Emphasis is placed on developing the capacity to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide spectrum of health conditions, particularly those impacting underserved and marginalized communities. Graduates gain both clinical expertise and the ability to advocate for systemic change in healthcare. By the end of the program, students are fully prepared to practice as nurse practitioners who can lead, educate, and transform care settings with a gender-inclusive, socially responsive, and ethical framework.
