The Master of Science in Atmospheric and Climate Science at ETH Zurich - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology is a 1.5-year, full-time on-campus program that focuses on understanding the Earth’s atmosphere and climate system through physical, chemical, and mathematical approaches. The program covers key areas such as atmospheric dynamics, climate modeling, weather systems, and environmental processes, combining observational data with advanced computational methods. Students develop strong analytical skills to study climate variability and predict environmental changes.
Graduates are well-prepared for climate science careers in research institutes, environmental agencies, meteorological organizations, and international institutions, as well as for doctoral studies. With a strong emphasis on climate modeling and atmospheric systems, the program equips students with the expertise needed to analyze and address global climate challenges.
Semester 1 – Foundations in Atmospheric and Climate Science
Semester 2 – Advanced Atmospheric and Climate Science
Semester 3 – Master’s Thesis & Research Project
Graduates of the Atmospheric and Climate Science Master’s program are highly sought after in climate research, weather forecasting, environmental consultancy, and policy development. They can work as climate scientists, meteorologists, environmental consultants, and policy advisors. With the growing focus on climate change and environmental protection, graduates have strong career prospects in government agencies, research institutions, and environmental organizations working to mitigate the effects of climate change.
The Atmospheric and Climate Science program provides students with the knowledge to understand and address the challenges posed by climate change. Students gain expertise in atmospheric dynamics, climate modeling, and weather prediction, preparing them for roles in climate research and environmental monitoring. The program combines both theoretical study and practical experience, ensuring that graduates are equipped to make a meaningful impact in addressing global climate challenges.
