The Master of Science in Neuroscience with a specialization in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience – Fundamental Neuroscience at Maastricht University is a two-year, full-time on-campus program that focuses on the basic mechanisms underlying brain function and neural systems. The curriculum explores cellular and molecular neuroscience, neural circuits, brain physiology, and experimental approaches to understanding fundamental neural processes.
Graduates will be well-prepared for careers in neuroscience research, PhD programs, biomedical laboratories, and academic institutions. The program emphasizes fundamental brain science, enabling students to investigate how neural systems are organized and how basic brain mechanisms contribute to cognition and behavior.
Semester 1 – Foundations in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience
Semester 2 – Advanced Cognitive Neuroscience
Semester 3 – Specialization in Cognitive Neuroscience
Semester 4 – Master’s Thesis & Research Project
Graduates of the Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience - Fundamental Neuroscience Master’s program are highly sought after in neuroscience research, clinical psychology, and biomedical sciences. With expertise in brain structure, function, and neurobiology, graduates can pursue careers as neuroscience researchers, clinical neuropsychologists, lab technicians, or neurobiologists. The growing demand for research into neurological diseases ensures strong career prospects in academic, healthcare, and research sectors.
Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience - Fundamental Neuroscience program offers an in-depth study of the biological and cognitive foundations of brain function. Students will explore neural processes, brain disorders, and cognitive functions, preparing them for research roles in neuroscience and clinical settings. The program equips graduates to contribute to the growing field of neuroscience research, with applications in mental health, drug development, and neurotechnology.
