Data Science and Business Analytics - Business Analytics
A single year of on-campus, full-time study produces a defined and demonstrable skill set: statistical method, machine learning applied to business problems, data visualisation, predictive modelling, and work with large datasets. A research project in business analytics closes the second semester, so students finish holding a piece of independent analytical work rather than coursework alone. Business Intelligence is the field of study recorded against the degree.
Those skills map onto three roles named in the programme's career outline, namely data scientist, business analyst, and business intelligence consultant, with finance, healthcare, and consulting given as the sectors that hire for them. What connects the roles is translation.
