Environmental Engineering

About

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering at METU is a rigorous undergraduate program established to educate engineers capable of addressing environmental challenges through science and engineering. The curriculum integrates fundamental courses in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and engineering with specialized environmental engineering subjects — including water and wastewater treatment, air and water pollution control, environmental chemistry and microbiology, waste management, environmental impact assessment, water resources, and environmental systems design. With strong emphasis on both theoretical knowledge and hands-on laboratory and fieldwork, students gain the skills needed to assess, design and implement solutions for sustainable management of water, air, soil, and waste — contributing to environmental protection and public health.

Based in Ankara, the program benefits from METU’s established engineering environment and modern facilities. Through its broad, interdisciplinary structure and focus on sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility, this program prepares graduates to meet national and global environmental challenges — working in government, industry, consulting, research, or continuing with graduate education.
