Mathematics Education

About

Mathematics Education at METU is an undergraduate program aimed at training future mathematics teachers with strong expertise in mathematics and pedagogy. The curriculum combines in-depth mathematics courses (calculus, algebra, analysis, geometry, probability/statistics, etc.) with education-theory, pedagogy, and teaching methodology. Students build both solid subject-knowledge and teaching competence, enabling them to teach mathematics effectively at secondary (and possibly middle) school levels.

Based in Ankara, the program benefits from a robust academic setting where mathematics mastery and educational skills are integrated. Graduates gain the knowledge and pedagogical tools required to foster mathematical understanding and education in young learners, contributing to mathematics teaching at schools or continuing in academic/educational research.
