The Master of Science in Infection and Immunity at Utrecht University is a two-year, full-time on-campus program that focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of infection and the immune response. The program covers a wide range of topics, including microbial pathogenesis, immunology, vaccinology, and host-pathogen interactions.
Students will gain specialized knowledge in microbiology, immunology, and disease mechanisms, with hands-on laboratory experience and the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research. Graduates will be well-prepared for careers in medical research, biotechnology, or public health, equipped to contribute to developing vaccines, treatments, and innovative immune therapies for infectious diseases.
Semester 1 – Foundations in Infection and Immunity
Semester 2 – Advanced Infection and Immunity
Semester 3 – Applied Infection and Immunity
Semester 4 – Master’s Thesis & Final Project
Graduates of the Infection and Immunity Master’s program can work in immunology, infectious disease research, and biomedical research. With expertise in microbial pathogens, immune system responses, and disease control, graduates are well-prepared for careers as immunologists, clinical researchers, or biotechnologists. This program provides opportunities in pharmaceutical companies, research institutes, and public health organizations focusing on infectious diseases and immunity.
The Infection and Immunity Master’s program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of how the immune system defends against infections. Students explore topics such as infectious diseases, vaccination strategies, and immune response mechanisms. The program’s focus on both theoretical knowledge and practical laboratory experience ensures that graduates are well-equipped to work in the fields of immunology and infectious disease research. Graduates are prepared to contribute to advancements in vaccine development and disease prevention.
