

The Master of Arts in Conflict Studies and Human Rights at Utrecht University is a one-year, full-time on-campus program that focuses on the intersection of conflict, human rights, and social justice. The program explores the causes and consequences of conflict, as well as the role of international law, diplomacy, and human rights frameworks in addressing these issues.
Students will gain in-depth knowledge of conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and human rights advocacy, while developing critical skills in research and policy analysis. Graduates will be well-prepared for careers in international organizations, NGOs, human rights advocacy, or peacebuilding, equipped to contribute to conflict resolution and human rights protection around the world.

Graduates of the Conflict Studies and Human Rights Master’s program can work in human rights advocacy, conflict resolution, and international diplomacy. With expertise in international law, conflict management, and human rights, graduates are prepared for roles as human rights officers, conflict resolution specialists, or policy analysts. This program provides opportunities in NGOs, governmental organizations, and international agencies focused on conflict management and human rights protection.
The Conflict Studies and Human Rights Master’s program offers students an in-depth understanding of the root causes of conflicts and the role of human rights in global peacebuilding. Students engage with conflict resolution strategies, international humanitarian law, and human rights advocacy, preparing them for leadership roles in peacekeeping and social justice.
