The Control and Automation Engineering programme at ITU is a four-year undergraduate degree delivered fully in English. This programme teaches students how to design, control and automate mechanical, electrical and computer-based systems used in factories, machines, robotics and industry. In the first years, you learn mathematics, physics and basic engineering fundamentals. Later, you study system dynamics, control theory, automation, robotics, instrumentation and industrial systems design. With both theory and hands-on labs, students gain solid engineering knowledge and practical skills to build and manage automated systems.
By studying at ITU, students benefit from a well-established engineering faculty and modern facilities. The programme balances academic courses, laboratory work and project-based learning. Students also learn how electrical, mechanical and software parts work together in real systems. At the end of the degree, graduates are prepared for work in automation, robotics, manufacturing, industry, or further studies — with a strong, internationally relevant engineering background.
Semester 1 – Foundations of Engineering
Semester 2 – Fundamentals & Basic Systems
Semester 3 – Core Control & Systems I
Semester 4 – Core Control & Automation I
Semester 5 – Automation, Robotics & Industry Systems
Semester 6 – Advanced Automation & Applied Control
Semester 7 – Projects & Professional Skills
Semester 8 – Capstone & Graduation Preparation
Graduates of this programme can work as automation engineers, control systems engineers, robotics engineers, industrial systems designers, instrumentation engineers, embedded systems developers, or R&D engineers in manufacturing, technology, robotics or industrial firms. They may join companies in sectors like automotive, production, energy, manufacturing, robotics, building automation or industrial automation. With strong engineering foundations, they are also prepared for advanced studies (MSc/PhD), research careers, or jobs requiring interdisciplinary knowledge in electronics, mechanics and computing.
This programme is a strong choice for students who want to work with modern technologies that control machines, robots and automated systems. You learn how real industrial systems function and how to design solutions that make them faster, safer and more efficient. The courses combine theory, laboratory work and real engineering projects, so you not only understand ideas but also practise them. This gives you confidence in solving practical problems and helps you develop teamwork, communication and analytical thinking skills.
Another important reason to choose this programme is the high demand for control and automation engineers in many fields. Today, almost every industry uses automation — from manufacturing and robotics to energy, transportation, medical devices and smart systems. By the time you graduate, you have both technical knowledge and practical experience, giving you a strong advantage in finding good jobs, joining global projects or moving into advanced engineering research.
