Avrasya University was founded in 2010 in Trabzon by the Eğitim ve Hizmet Vakfı as the first foundation university in the Eastern Black Sea region. The university welcomed its first students in the 2010–2011 academic year, aiming to contribute to the educational, cultural, and economic development of the region.
Since its establishment, Avrasya University has expanded to include faculties, vocational schools, and graduate programs, supported by modern campuses in Yomra, Pelitli, and Ömer Yıldız.
