History & Foundation
Yıldız Technical University traces its roots back to 1911 when the Kondüktör Mekteb-i Âlisi (School of Conductors) was established to meet technical staff needs of the public works sector. Over the following decades, the institution evolved through various names and structures, developed multiple engineering, architecture and science faculties, and in 1992 adopted its current name.
Since then, the university has expanded with new campuses, research centres and faculties, becoming a distinguished institution in Turkey and internationally recognized for its engineering and technological education and innovation.
