History & Foundation

Beykent University was founded in 1997 and welcomed its first students in the 1997/1998 academic year. It was established by the Adem Çelik – Beykent Educational Foundation, with the belief that Turkey’s challenges can only be addressed through education. The university was founded in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University, and most of its initial academic staff came from the UK.

Education & Research

Beykent University offers over 40 undergraduate programmes in 9 faculties. To reinforce theoretical education with practice, the university has 10 research centres equipped with cutting-edge technology and laboratories.

The university places strong emphasis on foreign language education. A dedicated Foreign Languages Department ensures that students in programmes taught in English or Russian complete a preparatory year if their proficiency does not meet standards. Through Erasmus Exchange agreements with more than 120 universities, students can complete part of their studies abroad.

Beykent University also encourages its students and staff to actively use its research centres. In addition, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Social Sciences each publish scientific journals twice a year, open to contributions from both Beykent and external researchers.

Career

Beykent University places strong emphasis on preparing students for their professional careers. The university offers opportunities for internships, part-time jobs, certificate training programmes, and close industry connections.

It regularly hosts Career Days, welcoming representatives from over 100 national and international companies for presentations and workshops. Students also benefit from simulation job interview trainings online and around 100 technical expeditions each year, ensuring practical exposure alongside academic learning.
