History & Foundation

Fenerbahçe University was established in 2016 by the Fenerbahçe Sports Club. In 2020, the first year it started accepting students, it received an investment of 100 million Turkish Liras from Medicana Health Group. Since then, the university has been part of many large-scale research & development and social responsibility projects.

The main campus of Fenerbahçe University is located in Ataşehir, a central area on the Anatolian side of the Bosphorus, close to Kadıköy.

Education & Research

Fenerbahçe University offers 28 undergraduate programmes in 6 faculties, and the instruction language for most of the programmes is English. The university lays great importance on a comprehensive English education, and has a separate Department of Foreign Languages dedicated to language education. The English preparatory year is voluntary but strongly recommended for most undergraduate programmes.

The university aims to raise individuals who are internationally competent, open to innovative and creative thinking, and focused on scientific development. It also fosters a multicultural atmosphere by offering various education and training opportunities to its rising number of international students.

Fenerbahçe University has eight research and development centres in a wide range of fields from African Studies to Cyberspace Studies. With its close connection to sports, the university has a vast Sport Sciences Research and Application Centre. Aside from conducting scientific research in the field of sports sciences and athlete health, it also provides consultancy for professional and amateur athletes, works on the prevention of injuries, and provides training on physical activity, performance development and recovery strategies.

Student Life & Global Opportunities

At Fenerbahçe University, each student is assigned an academic counsellor who guides them in their academic life and prepares them for their careers.

The university also has an active Career Centre and Alumni Office, which facilitates the students’ transition from university life to business life. Its departments help students find part-time jobs and internships, provide career consulting, and train students in CV preparation and job interviews.
