MEF University is a foundation university established in 2012 in Istanbul. It adopts an innovative teaching approach that emphasizes creativity, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking. All departments provide English-medium instruction, except for the Faculty of Law, where 30% of courses are taught in English.

The university applies the Flipped Classroom Model, where theoretical content is delivered online before class, allowing in-class sessions to focus on practice and discussion. MEF University is also one of only eight Turkish universities accredited by ABET, with all of its engineering departments holding this accreditation.
