History & Foundation

Selçuk University was established in 1975 following Turkey’s enactment of the Law for the founding of new universities and began operations in the 1976-1977 academic year with two faculties and a modest student body.

Over the decades, the university has grown significantly in size, scope and academic depth. It has expanded through the addition of numerous faculties, institutes, research centres and vocational schools, and now stands as a major institution in Turkey with broad academic and social impact.
