Founded in 2003 through the merger of the universities of Duisburg and Essen, the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) is one of the youngest and largest universities in Germany. Guided by its principle of “Open-minded,” the university is committed to academic excellence, innovation, and equal opportunities in education, research, and society.

With 11 faculties, more than 260 degree programs, and a strong interdisciplinary focus, UDE offers a wide academic portfolio ranging from engineering and natural sciences to medicine, social sciences, and the humanities.
