

Founded in 2011 in the heart of Istanbul, Üsküdar University is the first higher education institution in Turkey to specialise in behavioural health and sciences. Guided by its motto “One step closer to understanding human nature,” the university combines academic excellence with a strong commitment to human values, innovation, and sustainability.
With six faculties, 39 undergraduate programs, and a wide range of associate and graduate degrees, Üsküdar University focuses on behavioural sciences, engineering, and health sciences, while also offering vocational education in diverse healthcare fields. The university’s three campuses, all located in the Üsküdar district, provide a vibrant urban experience, supported by modern student residences within walking distance of the main campus. Today, 11% of its student body is international, adding a global perspective to its academic community.
Üsküdar University was established in 2011 by the Foundation of Human Values and Mental Health, and welcomed its first students in the 2012/2013 academic year. The university maintains a scientific partnership with NP Health Group, an over 25-year-old organisation with the aim of improving the mental health of the society and to prioritise preventive mental health studies.
The NPIstanbul Neuropsychiatry Hospital, which serves as the application centre of Üsküdar University, is Turkey's first private neuropsychiatry hospital. In 2018, Üsküdar University was declared as a 'Centre of Excellence’ by UNESCO for its work in the fields of Neurobiology, Cognitive Medicine and Brain Research.
Üsküdar University offers an innovative learning environment shaped by more than 600 distinguished academics. With its specialisation in behavioural health, the university provides rare and in-demand programs such as Child Development, Nursing, Audiology, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and Health Management.
