Yaşar University was established in 2001, and its first undergraduate programs started in the 2002–2003 academic year. The Bornova DYO Campus opened in the 2004–2005 academic year, marking an important step in the university’s growth. Since its foundation, Yaşar University has steadily expanded its academic and institutional capacity.
In its first year, the university enrolled 500 students, and by 2024 it will have graduated around 10,000 students—a remarkable 20-fold increase in enrollment over 20 years.
Yaşar University offers a wide range of graduate and undergraduate programs across ten faculties, including 30 undergraduate, 14 associate, 71 master’s, and 15 doctoral programs. It also provides remote learning opportunities for staff and students wishing to pursue distance education. In addition, the university supports academic flexibility through double major and minor programs.
