

Established in 1998 by the Foundation for Children with Leukaemia, Haliç University is striving to become a leading source of educational services and scientific research compatible with today’s increasingly globalised world.
The university is located in Istanbul and offers 44 undergraduate programmes in 8 faculties. In addition, it embraces a highly-student-oriented model with a ratio of 2 students per instructor in the classes.
Haliç University has more than 50 student clubs, and its students are especially active in sports, accomplished in many different branches from horse riding to basketball.
Haliç University was founded by the Foundation for Children with Leukaemia in 1998, and has been growing in its number of students as well as academic departments ever since. The university is located in Haliç, a historical area on the European side of the Bosphorus, also known as the ‘Golden Horn’.
The university lays great importance on creativity and design, aiming to educate individuals who can solve problems by looking at them from a different perspective.
Since its establishment, more than 27,000 students have graduated from Haliç University.
Haliç University offers 44 undergraduate, 65 graduate, and 8 doctoral programmes across 8 faculties, along with vocational schools for Foreign Languages, Nursing, Sports Sciences, and a conservatory. The language of instruction in most programmes is English, and the university hosts 19% international students, a relatively high ratio compared to similar institutions.
Students benefit from a wide variety of courses, certificate programmes, and workshops ranging from gastronomy to mental health and self-development. They can also join diverse student clubs—such as mountain climbing or science fiction literature—and participate in numerous cultural activities on campus.
Haliç University has a Research and Development and Project Coordination Office that supports and guides both students and academicians in conducting scientific research and accessing funding opportunities. In addition, the university operates 7 research centres, including the Sustainable Energy Systems Application and Research Centre, Virtual and Augmented Reality Application and Research Centre, and Violence and Trauma Studies Application and Research Centre.
Fenerbahçe University has a Career Centre that provides students counselling and mentorship, helping them prepare for the intricacies of the business world such as CV preparation and job interviews. The centre also holds career days and regularly publishes an entrepreneurship newsletter.
Additionally, the university’s Technology Transfer Office aims to strengthen the relationship between academia and the industry, supporting research in the fields of commerce and consultancy, as well as organising activities to familiarise students with the business world.
