Eindhoven University of Technology, known in Dutch as Technische Universiteit Eindhoven and commonly abbreviated TU/e, is a public technical university located in Eindhoven, in the southern Netherlands. The institution specializes in engineering science and technology, pairing teaching with research directed at the practical application of knowledge. It sits within a heavily industrialized region and maintains close working relationships with the surrounding technology sector.

The university was founded on 23 June 1956 as the Technische Hogeschool Eindhoven, making it the second institution of its kind in the Netherlands after Delft University of Technology. It was established in large part to meet the demand for engineers in the region's electronics industry, particularly the Philips company. Over the following decades it grew into a full university and, as of 2023, enrolled roughly 13,000 students across its bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programmes.

Academically, TU/e is organized into nine departments: Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, the Built Environment, Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering. Its profile is firmly rooted in engineering and the physical sciences rather than the broad subject range of a general university. The university is closely tied to the high-tech Brainport Eindhoven region and collaborates with industry partners such as ASML and NXP, reflecting a long tradition of connecting academic research to technological innovation. TU/e also participates in several national and international networks, including the EuroTech Universities Alliance and the 4TU federation of Dutch technical universities, and its research reputation is concentrated in engineering and the physical sciences.
