History

The roots of KTH, also known as the Royal Institute of Technology, trace back to the 1690s when Swedish scientist, inventor, and industrialist, Christopher Polhem, initiated technical education in Stockholm via his Laboratorium Mechanicum. A century later, the Laboratorium Mechanicum was integrated into the School of Mechanics, ultimately resulting in the establishment of KTH in 1827. By the 1910s, KTH had relocated to its symbolic campus in the heart of Stockholm.

Education

At KTH, we provide more than 60 English-taught, two-year master's programmes specifically tailored for those who have attained a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Besides, there is a single, English-instructed three-year bachelor's degree programme in Information and Communication Technology.
