History

Linköping University (LiU), established as Sweden’s sixth higher education institution in 1975, has experienced rapid growth since its inception in Linköping. Its considerable expansion has led to the establishment of additional campuses in Norrköping and Stockholm, affirming LiU’s evolving presence in Sweden's academic landscape.

Education

Linköping University, often recognised for its four diverse faculties: the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Educational Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering (alternatively referred to as the Institute of Technology). In a formal sense, the Faculty of Educational Sciences is categorised as an "area", however, it customarily performs similar roles to a faculty. In certain formal events, Linköping University is perceived as having only three faculties, bringing the Faculty of Educational Sciences under the umbrella of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
